Part 1: Skills Test: Due 6/2
The student must demo each movement and tell me what they are demonstrating.
The three pulling positions are?
High Hang
Hang
Mid Shin/Ground
The three catching positions are?
Muscle
Power
Squat
The two different grips for Olympic lifting are?
Clean grip (Close)
Snatch grip (Super wide)
When gripping a bar for Burgener and Olympic Lifting, what grip do we use?
Hook Grip (Thumb wrapped around the bar first with four fingers locking them into place)
What is the Burgener Warm-Up?
A dynamic warm up comprised of three shoulder movements to help warm up the snatch and clean. Dip Shrug, Dip Drive, Dip Fire.
Part 2: Written Portion: Due 6/5
The student must answer the following questions no more than 200 words per answer. Please type or write the answers that are reflective of the athletes’ performance this year. Answers must be in depth and descriptive when answering. If I can not read the handwriting, I will not accept the paper.
What positive changes have occurred for you after taking CrossFit this year?
Why is it important to set goals and reflect on them? How often should reflection of performance take place? What is one goal you set for yourself this year and why? Did you meet that goal? Why or why not?
What specifically will you do to continue to focus on your goals in living an active healthy life? Nutrition goals? Exercise goals? Mental relaxation goals?
Part 3: Physical Demonstration: 6/6-6/8
Students must come to class dressed out and prepared to work out on their exam day. Students will complete CrossFit Total, completing a 1RM DL, BS, SP for their score to be compared to the previous semesters score.
